Quick Overview
Rose in Chains
Rose in Chains surprised me. I expected the romance to take center stage, but it was the political intrigue, betrayals, and shifting alliances that kept me hooked. Briony grows from someone caught in impossible circumstances into a strong leader, and watching her question everything she thought she knew was my favorite part of the story.
There is definitely more romance than I normally prefer, but it never completely overshadows the larger plot. If you enjoy political fantasy, morally gray characters, and enemies-to-lovers done well, I think this is an easy recommendation. Just know the romance shares the spotlight with the politics.
